EDM Engineering in a Wire EDM shop is critical. We use D.P. Technologies Esprit X CAD/CAM system in our engineering department. This is a fully three dimensional CAD/CAM system. We use our CAD system to program our Wire EDM and hole drilling machines. We also help our customers with their tooling designing special fixtures to hold their parts while burning. Our EDM engineering system can define gears, cams and four axis parts with this system. We accept files in several formats including DXF, IGES and DWG.
ESPRIT allows Wire Tech EDM to machine and drill any contoured mold, die, core, cavity, shape or profile. This versatile machining capability supports straight or tapered, rough and skim cuts, while optimizing wire cutting paths. Between cuts ESPRIT automatically handles all the necessary wire-cut and wire-thread instructions, and part-handling functions of the machine such as flushing, tank fill, and tank drain.
ESPRIT offers advanced tapering allowing complex tapers common in mold components, forming dies, and cutting tools. With the advanced conics capability of ESPRIT’s contour cycle, cutting a radius during tapering becomes possible. Built in advanced conics allows you to alternate between cylindrical constant radius corners and conical constant taper corners. ESPRIT provides independent programmable upper and lower radius control. While tapering into sharp corners, ESPRIT offers you the flexibility to maintain sharp corners top and bottom or machine a blended radius on the secondary plane.
Our EDM milling and drilling machines are CNC controlled. Wire Tech EDM offers micro hole and small hole EDM drilling services on parts over 1,000 lbs. and in excess of 20 inches deep. Size and weight are rarely a restriction when popping or drilling fast, small holes at Wire Tech EDM.
